The Facilitator of Team Learning and Development role
We’re very excited to be kicking off our search for this role – and the newest member of our ‘spec-taco-lar’ Trusted Advisor team! We envision this role being mostly client-facing (billable), and vital to growing our Trusted Advisor offering.
This role’s focus will be to guide teams and individuals through shared learning experiences that foster purposeful collaboration, effective communication, and meaningful growth. Using core frameworks based on the Right Use of Power (RUP) model and Non-Violent Communication (NVC) – you’ll play a pivotal role in helping teams to navigate power dynamics, communicate more effectively, and establish better ways of working together.
Responsibilities

Designing and facilitating engaging, experiential, and impactful learning sessions for client organizations
- Applying a ‘less is more’ philosophy – honing a few skills in multiple contexts - that follows a 20% teaching and 80% practice and feedback flow

Integrating the RUP model to help participants understand and navigate power dynamics ethically and effectively

Integrating NVC principles and techniques to help educate and equip participants to express themselves authentically and to listen empathically, while demonstrating NVC practice through facilitation

Tailoring learning experiences to meet the unique needs and challenges of different teams and individuals, ensuring relevance and applicability

Fostering a collaborative learning environment where participants feel safe exploring new ideas, challenging assumptions, and building trust among team members

Encouraging reflection and providing constructive feedback to participants to support their continuous learning and development journey

Assessing the effectiveness of learning interventions through qualitative and quantitative measures, adjusting strategies as needed to optimize impact

Keeping up to date on developments in team-based learning, facilitation techniques, the RUP model, and NVC, to continuously improve program offerings
Qualifications

In-depth knowledge and practical application experience with the Right Use of Power model and Non-Violent Communication.
- Completion of the core RUP curriculum, with preference given to applicants who are certified facilitators

Demonstrated commitment to continued learning and growth, with 5+ years of recognized group facilitation experience
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, organizational development, or a related field, along with coaching certifications, DEIB/J education, RUP or NVC training, etc. is beneficial
- On-the-job experience in group management, facilitation, and/or counselling (e.g. group-based learning, youth and work, camp counselling, expeditions, etc.)

Proven experience in facilitating team-based learning and development programs, in a corporate or organizational setting is valued

- Used to working mostly virtually (O365, Mural, Zoom, and other technologies)
- Open to travelling occasionally for 1-3 days at a time
- Available to do most of my work between standard business hours in MST
I understand the offer for this role includes...
- An independent consultant contract (in the form of a professional services agreement)
- A renumeration rate of $250/hour CAD
- Onboarding and training activities provided by TACO
- Travel per diems and allowances for work outside of one’s city limits
